Since Master Replicas had produced and sold out of a replica of Yoda’s is elegant lightsaber from Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones, we figured this project would be an easy recreation, requiring little development work for our engineers; But we figured wrong!
Just as in the previous filmed episode, Yoda’s lightsaber existed only as a digital construct within the computers of renowned visual effects house Industrial Light and Magic. However upon studying detailed images we discovered that a subtle makeover had been worked on this iconic weapon since last we saw it.
Specifically the end cap knurling is of a different design, and the top button behind the emitter shroud is a new color and shape. There are also subtle changes to the emitter head and to the shroud itself.
Scratches were tooled into the four grips that surround the handle, and stamping tools replicated the dings and dents on the body, collected during the many campaigns Yoda has waged during the three long years of the Clone Wars. Finally we finish this elegant weapon with a darker, stainless steel look in keeping with its latest onscreen appearance.
