Wonder Woman is one of the greatest icons of the ninth art and pop culture. Created by William Moulton Marston and Harry G. Peter in 1941, she is Princess Diana, a demigoddess Amazon of Themyscira, Paradise Island, and the daughter of Zeus and Hippolyta, the queen of the Amazons. Her origins have undergone several changes over the years; Diana has been a nurse, military intelligence officer, government agent, ambassador, among other roles besides being an Amazon warrior, with changes in her story and appearance, but her essence as the greatest of heroes has always remained the same, coming to the world of men to promote and defend peace and justice. With superhuman powers and abilities, and her mystical Lasso of Truth, she forms the so-called Trinity in the DC universe alongside Superman and Batman, being the balance between the two heroes of often opposing ideologies.
