Venom – 1/10 Scale ARTFX+ Statue
A KOTOBUKIYA Japanese import! Kotobukiya’s Marvel Comics ARTFX+ Statues have brought you Earth’s Mightiest Heroes in the Avengers as well as the heroic mutants of the X-Men. The latest series of high quality 1/10th scale ARTFX+ figures celebrates iconic characters appearing in Spider-Man titles, and at long last the line turns to one of the webslinger’s most popular opponents (and sometime ally), VENOM! When Spider-Man’s original red and blue costume was damaged on an alien planet during Secret Wars the hero found a gooey black substance that flowed over his body, creating a black and white costume that seemed too good to be true. A few months later, it was revealed that the substance was actually an alien parasite! After Spider-Man rejected it the creature joined with Eddie Brock to become the monstrous villain and archenemy known as Venom, though over time the symbiote would learn to protect innocents and operate with a harsh code of honor. Venom now smashes his way into the ARTFX+ Statue lineup with an incredible look based on artwork by Stefano Caselli!
Never one to prefer patience or lying in wait, Venom lunges forward on the attack! The symbiote is massively muscled, with an intricately sculpted alien physiology and small tendrils erupting from its skin. Venom rushes forward on all fours, his right leg propelling him forward with the left tensed beneath his body while he balances on his outstretched right arm and brings his left arm up to strike with his claws. Venom wears his trademark smile, a huge skull-splitting grin exposing frightening teeth while the creature’s shockingly long tongue snakes out of its mouth and curls up into the air. The symbiote is black with bright white spider markings on its chest and back, squares on the back of its hands, and its enormous eyes; meanwhile, Venom’s horrific tongue is a wet, fleshy red! Sculpted by Junnosuke Abe (RESTORE), Venom is just over 5 inches tall (in the ARTFX+ 1/10th scale) in his lunging pose, and magnets provide perfect stability on the included display base. Venom is an incredible display piece on his own and looks great with the other Spidey-related characters in this series… but of course the best thing is having Venom confronting Peter Parker Spider-Man himself!
