In the pantheon of Confederate Generals there are a number of remarkable men; Robert E. Lee, Stuart, Longstreet, and then there is T.J. “Stonewall” Jackson. His nickname is cast in eternal remembrance for his steadfast defense during the Battle of 1st Manassas. He was a leader that constantly pushed himself and his men, a man of deep religious conviction, and one that would not accept anything less than victorious results. Were it not for an unfortunate ‘friendly fire’ incident at the Battle of Chancellorsville that ended his life, the battles to come may have had entirely different results.
