General Lin Chong – 1/4 Scale Classic Premium Collectible – Three Kingdoms: Heroes of the Water Margin
Lin Chong, nicknamed the Panther Head, hails from the capital (Kaifeng, Henan province). He is one of the 108 heroes of Liangshan and ranks as the 6th most renowned hero among them. Originally, he was a martial arts instructor in the Imperial Army with 800,000 troops. Due to his wife catching the eye of Gao Qiu’s adopted son, Gao Yaoniang, he was repeatedly framed and eventually forced to join the outlaws at Liangshan Marsh. During the grand assembly at Liangshan, he ranked 6th and was granted the title of “Heavenly Star” and second-in-command of the Five Tiger Generals of the Cavalry, guarding the drought-stricken fortress in the west.
Following the series of heroes from the Three Kingdoms, a brand-new collection of original sculptures titled “Heroes of the Water Margin” debuts. The first piece in the collection is the 1/4 scale mounted general, Lin Chong, inspired by the depiction of Lin Chong in artist Zhang Mo’s painting scroll “Tiangang and Disharmony” which showcases the 108 heroes of the Water Margin. It portrays Lin Chong’s valiant figure after he became a fierce warrior following his oath of brotherhood at Liangshan.
Based on the original painting and incorporating the visual portrayal from literature and film, Lin Chong wears a Fanyang hat, with a leopard head-shaped hairpin and tiger-like beard, On his face, a golden seal reads “Matching with Cangzhou” His tightly knitted brows and carved wrinkles resemble those of a sharp blade, Fully expressing Lin Chong’s desolation and heroic solitary spirit during that period.
Shoulders, chest, abdomen, and legs adorned with polished silver armor, Finely detailed paintwork on the armor, Different patterns of handcrafted marks and battle-worn details on the armor plates, A silver buckle tightly fastens the leather robe around his waist, A white cape made of real fabric hangs on his back, Contains wire inside, allowing for flexible posing.
He wields the “Zhangba Snake Spear,” also known as the Zhangba Snake Spear Gun, “Made entirely of forged steel with a spear handle measuring one zhang (around 10 feet) and a spearhead that is eight inches long, double-edged like a slithering snake.” The spear picking a wine gourd is also a classic image of Lin Chong, Armed with his spear and wine, he fears no solitary journey through snowy nights.
A tall and robust warhorse stands beneath him, armored for battle, with Intricate gold decorations and strong metallic paint texture, The horse seems to lower its head as if contemplating a wayward path, Lin Chong holds the reins, venturing into the unknown.
