DESCRIPTION
A statue in order to celebrate the most important workman in Italy, created with the same soft and round forms of the unmistakeable outline of Altan. A proud Cipputi and in good shape with a good working tool and the inseparable position of metal worker. Entirely hand painted and of high quality, this statue represents an authentic gem of sculptural art for a modern classic like “il Cipputi”.
At the time, in the first cartoons, he was not yet called Cipputi or Cippone but Cipputo, “Anima Cipputo” his colleague said, who was also in a overalls: “have you not seen that the dollar is at 875”?.
Even if the name was not the same as that was subsequently adapted, nevertheless, the spirit of the workman Cipputi was already there, metalworker in blue overalls, which was the symbol that represented the working class. From that moment on, Cipputi represented one of the corrosive voices of the Italian satiric view with a constant presence in important national daily and weekly papers.
Francesco Tullio-Altan (Altan), born in 1942 in Treviso, esteemed by the public as a prestigious satiric cartoonist and extraordinary author of cartoon characters for adults, he is acclaimed by the critics not only for his narrative and graphics style but also for the literary style of his works. He is one of the greatest Italian authors for children. His PIMPA (cartoons, short stories, books, games, TV series, multimedia works, theatrical performances) is the character most loved by Italian children between 2 and 7 years old. Another well known character by children is the chameleon Kamillo Kromo. Amongst those for adults, other than the favourite Cipputi, archetype of the working man, full of irony and good sense and to the sexy people with piercing jokes, are spread (non only in Italian), the adventurous Ada, the squalid Frix Malone and the fantastic Colombo.
