Sand People are organized into clans and tribes, the former being kin groups of between 20 to 30 beings, and the latter being larger affinities with no strict bounds. In a typical tribe, the adult males typically assumed the role of hunter and protector, often leaving their camps for an extended time. Females, often accompanied by massiff guard animals, cared for the children, known as uli-ah, and the seasonal camps.[source?] After completing the rites of adulthood at the age of fifteen, the uli-ah were granted full status within the tribe[12] and paired for marriage in a ceremony involving blood exchanges between the male, the female, and their banthas.

IG-88, also known as IG-88B, or as a Phlutdroid, was a rogue, deadly masculine IG-series assassin droid manufactured by Holowan Laboratories who worked as a bounty hunter. Following the Battle of Hoth, he and several other bounty hunters were summoned by Darth Vader to the Executor and hired to track down the Millennium Falcon and her Rebel crew. Unable to track his quarry, IG-88 trailed his chief rival, Boba Fett, to Bespin, where the bounty hunter nearly destroyed the assassin droid, however IG-88 managed to survive. At some point IG-88 undertook a software infiltration into Death Star II, but his plan was single-handedly thwarted by R2-Q5. The droid later met with mercenary Bazine Netal to speak about the location of the Millennium Falcon.

Bossk was a male Trandoshan bounty hunter and the son of Cradossk who was known for hunting Wookiees.
During the Clone Wars, Bossk worked alongside fellow hunters Aurra Sing and Castas to mentor the orphaned Boba Fett.
After the rise of the Empire, Bossk traveled to the Outer Rim planet of Lothal to collect a bounty on the Dug criminal Gronson Takkaro, who had jumped bail in the Ahakista system.
During his trip, Bossk also joined forces with the Force-sensitive street urchin Ezra Bridger to stop the corrupt Imperial Security Bureau Lieutenant Jenkes.
Following the Battle of Hoth, Bossk would be called upon by Darth Vader to find and capture the Millennium Falcon.

When stationed on Hoth, the Rebel Alliance modified T-47 airspeeders to become snowspeeders, fast flying conveyances for patrol and defense of their hidden base. It took some doing to keep the crippling cold from permanently grounding their airforce, but Rebel ingenuity overcame the relentless Hoth elements.

The Viper probe droid, commonly referred to as the Imperial probe droid, was a model of probe droid manufactured by Arakyd Industries that was used by the Galactic Empire and, later, the New Republic, for deep space exploration and reconnaissance.
During the Galactic Civil War, Death Squadron launched Project Swarm, an operation that deployed 100,000 Viper droids across the galaxy in hyperdrive pods, in order to find the Rebellion’s base. A probe deployed to the planet Hoth eventually found the base, which set into action the evacuation and battle that took place soon after. The droids communicated using Omnisignal Unicode.
