Who is Captain America? Captain America is Steve Rogers, a young man eager to serve his country during WWII in the fight against the Axis powers. Frail and unable to enlist in the armed forces, he agreed to participate in the super-soldier experiment, transforming Steve into Captain America. He remained frozen for decades, preventing him from aging, and was revived in modern times by S.H.I.E.L.D., becoming one of the main Avengers. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, he was portrayed by actor Chris Evans, starting with the movie Captain America: The First Avenger.
